The tensions between Russia and Ukraine have reached the highest levels in years, according to some experts, with a Russian army build-up at the border between the two countries. Such an event has caused the West to fear that Moscow will soon launch an invasion, despite several warnings that Russia should stop making further aggressive moves against Ukraine. From this perspective, how can one understand the current Russian-Ukrainian situation? Can this event be understood as an act of hybrid warfare or is it more of a question between the different underlying visions of the West and Russia with regards to war and peace? Moreover, the high unpredictability of Russia makes it difficult to assert what is the future outcome of this scenario. In this videocast, Ștefania Leuca, an intern at OTH Regensburg, along with her colleague, Eugenio Montalti, have interviewed the Research Director of the International Relations Institute, Mr. Jakub Eberle, who offers his perspective about the abovementioned issues, arguing that, overall, the Russian-Ukrainian situation is very dangerous and represents a conventional risk.
